Cycle Lane Upgrades

The works consisted of the demolition, removal and reinstatement of existing concrete/macadam paths and kerbing on the main Straffan Road into Maynooth, as part of KCC’s cycle route upgrade scheme. Pedestrian and Traffic management represented a significant obstacle on this extremely busy road with Bretland successful in minimising disruption to Residents, the nearby Train Station and Local Business’s throughout the project.

• Design & implement traffic and extensive pedestrian management system
• Excavate & dispose of material off site
• Supply, place & compact various granular materials
• Installation of traffic/PL ducting
• Installation of 1km of in-situ concrete kerbing
• Decommissioning and relocation of existing gully pots
• Install tactile paving
• Install new bus shelter
• Raising/Lowering of ironworks
• Paver lay macadam to footpath
• Upgrading of existing traffic lights
• Erection of cycle track road signage
• Relocation of existing public lighting columns
• Completion of 5000m2 of road HRA overlay
• Completion of hard and soft landscaping
