Tony Meehan, a BSc (Surveying) graduate from Trinity College Dublin, brings three decades of construction experience to his role as Commercial Director. His expertise spans various contracts and ensures that client budgets are prioritised without compromising quality or timelines. Tony’s extensive experience with Tier 1 contractors in Ireland and the UK equips him to lead Bretland’s commercial department effectively.

Anne Marie McCormack, an alumna of Purdue University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management and Engineering Technologies, is the Operations Director at Bretland. Her ten-plus years in construction, including a stint in the USA, have culminated in her overseeing Bretland’s ISO Management Systems encompassing quality, occupational health & safety, and environmental standards. Anne Marie continues to leverage her extensive experience to enhance operational excellence within the company.

Ruth Heeney, the Finance Director, stands as the guardian of Bretland’s financial integrity. Her credentials as a Chartered Accountant and Auditor, coupled with her extensive accountancy experience across varied industries, underscore her expertise in financial management, governance, risk management, and compliance. Ruth’s educational background from TUS Athlone and UCD Dublin, along with her array of qualifications, fortify her role in steering the company’s financial strategy while supporting human resources.

John O’Connell, BSc (Construction Management) from Tralee IT, is Construction Director with over 20 years’ industry experience, including a decade in senior management. He has led Public Works, Commercial, Residential, and Civil Engineering projects, developing strong commercial awareness, leadership skills, and extensive knowledge of RIAI and Government contract forms. John excels in managing multiple projects, overseeing procurement, coordinating with clients and design teams, and driving programme, cost, quality, and safety performance. As a Board of Management member, he holds overall responsibility for the Construction and Purchasing departments, ensuring efficient and high-standard project delivery.

Maurice Austin is a luminary in contract management with three decades of robust experience. Joining Bretland in 2010, he quickly rose from Contracts Manager to Contracts Director, driving sustainable growth and delivering projects for prestigious clients. His tenure with a Tier 1 contractor honed his expertise across civil and building projects in diverse sectors, including residential, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and commercial. His sterling track record in project and contract management is marked by his dedication to excellence and his strategic contributions to Bretland’s business development.
