Charles Rivers Laboratories

The project involved the design coordination and installation of structural precast concrete beams incorporating an in-situ reinforced concrete deck within the live Pharmaceutical Facility of Charles River Laboratories, Greenogue Business Park.

The project was undertaken for the installation of an on site 480,000 litre water storage tank. Continuous close coordination with the client and facility management had to be maintained as works were carried out within a live facility. Due to the nature of the works, out of hours working was a necessity. Any relocation of facility storage/equipment was restored prior to each shift so as to avoid any disruption to the day to day operations of the company. This was particularly evident when an 80 ton crane was employed within the facility in order to lift the structural precast beams into place.
