Bretland Construction announce appointment of Conor Kenny as Director of SHEQ

In a move aimed at further strengthening our Senior Leadership Team, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Conor Kenny as Director of SHEQ.

Conor brings over 25 years of experience in Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management, underpinned by a strong academic and professional foundation. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma (with Distinction) in Health & Safety in Construction, a Post Graduate Diploma in Fire Safety Practice, and honours degrees in Civil Engineering and Mathematics.

A Fellow of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (FIIRSM), Conor is recognised for his commitment to advancing safety leadership, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring operational excellence across all aspects of SHEQ.

In his new role, Conor will oversee the strategic direction and implementation of our Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality programmes, ensuring that the highest standards are embedded throughout our organisation.

Commenting on his appointment, Conor Kenny said: I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Bretland Construction, working alongside Coleman Yates and the wider Bretland team is a privilege. Their reputation for integrity, innovation, and excellence is inspiring, and I’m excited to contribute to a culture where safety and quality are central to everything we do.

Conor joins Bretland from a global data centre developer where he was Lead HSE Manager. During Conor’s time in the role, he was the Client HSE advisor for enabling works and lead HSE manager for data centres in the Dublin area. In Conor’s previous role he “worked with the Delivery (Construction) and Operations teams with respect to implementing the company HSEW standards across both our construction projects and operational Data Centre environments.” The project also entailed the construction of 2 No. Energy Centres, encompassing 6 No. Wartsila Engines, Fuel Tank farm, ancillary building, and site works.
