Role and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Report to project management team and provide weekly/monthly updates on programme and subcontractors progress.
- Manage site staff and all contractors coming on to your project and currently on your Project.
- Constant interaction and guidance to construction operatives on site.
- As the Site Manager you will work closely and report to your Project Manager, Contracts Manager/Director to ensure business objectives and project strategies are met and exceeded.
- Take responsibility for managing day to day activities on-site throughout the project lifecycle, assist Project Team to ensure the successful delivery of the project on time and within budget.
- Ensure that appropriate SHEQ personnel are copied in all subcontractors’ appointments and when starting on site.
- Establish Construction Programmes for projects with you respective Project Manager.
- Check and understand all drawings and specification. Ensure that any errors/omissions are formally communicated to the design team in timely manner.
- Ensure RFI’s and Technical Submittals are issued to the Design Team and that all registers are kept up to date on the Bretland IMS
- Establish project resource requirements and lead \ motivate the project team.
- Monitor construction, regarding quality of workmanship and materials and recording of same on the Bretland IMS.
- Proposing suitable changes to design to improve saving, ease construction programme, enhance specification and quality completion.
- Commercially minded and ability to work with the project team including the QS to manage the project and meet the company objectives for each project.
- Co-ordinate and liaise with your Project Manager, Site Engineers and services Co-ordinator to ensure that all subcontractors and site personnel have always timely and accurate information.
- Ensure compliance with drawings, specification, building regulations and good building practise.
- Ensure compliance with local statutory and regulatory obligations.
- Complete and issue daily progress reports.
- Monitor and manage all agency labour on the projects, and only hire, as and when required
- Ensure Agency time sheets are checked and signed off weekly by you, the PM & QS
- Workstations are clean
- Ensure all welfare and office are cleaned daily.
- Implementing onsite health and safety procedures and support H&S officer with implementing safety procedures.
- Management of all aspects of SHEQ on site, ensuring compliance with the Company’s Environmental, H&S, and Quality Management Systems
- Ensure that all persons coming to site have completed inductions and have provided the necessary certifications to be onsite as reqruied; Safepass, Manual Handling, CSCS, etc
- Ensure all operatives have signed in, are inducted, have the relevant permit for their works, receive weekly toolbox talks and are working to the appropriate risk assessments and method statements.
- Liaise with SHEQ Department for ensuring Bretland RAMS are suitable for the task and SPA is in line with the methodology in the RAMS for the task.
- Monitor Subcontractor RAMs as received and liaise with SHEQ Department for approval.
- Ensure that Accident/Incidents are recorded/investigated as per Bretland Company procedures.
- Ensure all permits or licences for works are applied for in time and are in place before any activity commences.
- Ensure Progress photos are taken to document works and store appropriately on the cloud or Procore
- Ensure that all persons working on our projects have signed latest version on their RAMS and always have their SPA with them.
- Upload SPA’s to Bretland document control system.
- Upload all permits including Clients to Bretland document control system.
- Ensure the works are planned out in a logical manner paying particular attention to materials storage, deliveries, plant and traffic movements, craneage and any other site logistics.
- Daily site reports to be issued to Senior Management and stored on Procore or uploaded to Bretland document control system.
- Ensure all managers, engineers and sub-contractors are working to the latest construction issue information.
- Ensure that all setting out is done in good time and its accuracy is checked.
- Attendance at progress meetings is mandatory and ensure that updates on the following is provided.
